VETTED: Streetwear With a Story
VETTED is an independent Melbourne streetwear brand built around faith, purpose, resilience and the belief that what you wear can represent something deeper.
We create premium streetwear for people who want more than another logo on a T-shirt. From oversized tees and heavyweight hoodies to jackets, jerseys, tanks, pants and everyday streetwear essentials, every VETTED piece is designed with purpose.
Our influences come from everything that shaped us. Faith. 90s hip hop. Sport. Family. Melbourne. The gym. The streets. And most importantly, real life.
I’ve been into fashion for as long as I can remember.
It goes all the way back to Year 9 textiles class, when creating something from nothing first caught my attention. Over the last 15 years, I kept designing, developing ideas and imagining what my own clothing brand could eventually become.
But having an idea and taking the leap are two very different things.
Around two years ago, I finally decided to back myself, trust God and start building VETTED.
It began as a clothing label, but the vision was always bigger.
I wanted to build an Australian streetwear brand that looked good, felt premium and actually stood for something.
Inspired by the Golden Era
A big part of our design language comes from the classic hip hop era.
There was something different about 90s streetwear.
The silhouettes were bigger. Sportswear crossed into music and everyday fashion. Varsity jackets, jerseys, oversized tees, baggy fits and statement pieces weren’t just clothing. They became part of an identity.
That influence still runs through what we create today.
We aren’t trying to recreate the past. We take that energy and reinterpret it through a modern VETTED lens, combining 90s inspired streetwear with contemporary oversized fits, premium fabrics and clean detailing.
It’s nostalgia without being stuck in the past.
Faith Is Part of Our Foundation
VETTED is a faith inspired streetwear brand, but our message is one we hope anyone can connect with.
To us, VETTED means:
You are seen. You are known. You are loved.
Whatever circumstance you are facing, whatever season you’re walking through and whatever struggle nobody else can see, your story isn’t finished.
That’s where the name VETTED comes from.
To be vetted is to be tried and tested.
Life can test you. Failure can test you. Loss can test you. Doubt can test you. There are seasons that can make you question who you are and where you’re going.
I was the person building a business. Raising a family. Training for something. Fighting a battle nobody knows about. Chasing a dream. Starting again. Holding onto faith. Trying to become better than they were yesterday.
Your story doesn’t have to look like ours for you to be part of VETTED.
You just have to understand what it means to be tested and keep going.
It means knowing you are seen, known and loved even during the seasons when you don’t feel it.
And ultimately, it points towards the words we hope to hear one day:
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
